Edison Fireside; an academic question..!
I have just obtained this Edison Fireside and only realised when I got it home that it was a bit 'different'.
I have never previously seen a 'single-lined' Fireside without the usual characteristic double blue and gold parallel lining. The bedplate has clearly not been re-painted black and so I cannot imagine that the old lining had all been worn away or removed. The serial number is relatively early at 1481- has anyone else seen a similarly finished?
