Edison 'Branded Lid' Gem (1899-1900) £320
Gems of this period are notoriously hard to date exactly.
This one, which came from a private source, shows several 'transitional' features. The lid predates the use of the 'banner' transfer. The key is of the 'long-tube' (fitting a recessed shaft) type. The reproducer is a Model 'B'. The mandrel is of the 'quality' pattern with a brass pulley rather than the later, fragile pot-metal type.
The horn shown is a good reproduction of the 10" black cone type in use at that time.
