Edison 1900-pattern Model A Gem  SOLD

Edison 1900 Model A Gem

The first model of the Gem after the adoption of the Model B reproducer and following the 'Gem Speaker'.

It has the metal front-plate instead of a 'GEM' transfer and a thin lifting-lever rather than a lifting knob on the carriage. It also has a higher-quality pulley on the mandrel. The (original) key is of the 'tubular' pattern rather than a flat plate.

Offered with a Model 'C' reproducer (it would have been a B when new) and reproduction 10" enamelled horn.
