Zonophone Gibson Number 1 machine  £525

Now work in progress- the base, motor, arms and elbow are all original but the horn is a (totally appropriate) older reproduction of the correct style and proportion. I am still sourcing a winding-handle and escutcheon for the winding-hole.

The only serious rival to the quality of HMV machines, The Gramophone Company took over Frank Seaman's Zonophone Company in 1903 and retained it as a 'Bentley to HMV's Rolls Royce'- a marginally less prestigious marque. Later Zonophones were built with totally recognisable  HMV motors but otherwise with somewhat cheaper features to retain a distance from the HMV range.
